Probable Man United line-up vs Cardiff City

Manchester United, after sacking former manager Jose Mourinho, is ready for the beginning of a new era and new caretaker manager Ole Gunnar Solskjaer is set for his first game on Saturday against Cardiff City in Wales.

Solskjaer will be eager to improve United’s form and help them gain three points against his former employers.

Manchester United currently sit 6th in the Premier League table, 19 points behind league leaders Liverpool and they will be eager to move further up the table towards securing Champions League qualification.

Meanwhile  Cardiff City sit 16th in the table having won two of their last five games to steer clear of the relegation zone.

Manchester United received a boost in the form of Victor Lindelof and Anthony Martial’s performances against Liverpool.

Chris Smalling and Luke Shaw remain doubts for the weekend’s game, Alexis Sanchez on the other hand remains on the treatment table until the new year.

Here is a probable line-up for Manchester United against Cardiff City:

Predicted lineup (4-4-1-1): David De Gea,  Antonio Valencia,  Jones, Victor Lindelof, Ashley Young, Fred, Paul Pogba, Marouane Fellaini, Marcus Rashford,  Anthony Martial, Romelu Lukaku.

Unavailable: Alexis Sanchez (Injured).

Doubtful: Luke Shaw (Injured), Chris Smalling (Injured), Scott McTominay (Injured).

The Cardiff City Stadium has been a lions den for visiting teams recently, with the home side winning four of their last five matches there. Although they have only managed one clean sheet during that run, Solskjaer would hope to break the home dominance of his former team on Saturday.
