INFOGRAPHIC: Comparing Morgan Schneiderlin’s Form at Southampton & Man Utd
[wp_ad_camp_2]
Earlier this week, the MEN’s Samuel Luckhurst described Morgan Schneiderlin as Van Gaal’s most important signing, praising his performance against Liverpool and citing the fact that United are yet to lose a game with Schneiderlin on the pitch.
I have also been impressed with Schneiderlin since he joined the club, and have previously written about how much better he’s been than Schweinsteiger in our midfield.
Ahead of his first return to his old club, Schneiderlin said he had no qualms about hurting his former teammates, and we’ll need him to show that same spirit today.
But as we look ahead to this afternoon’s game against Southampton, it’s interesting to compare the Frenchman’s stats so far with his numbers from the 2014/15 campaign with Southampton. Oulala have produced an infographic that puts the key numbers side-by-side – although his pass completion has been marginally higher (a natural consequence of LvG’s style of play), he has been inferior on some other key fronts, winning fewer tackles and aerial duels and creating fewer chances.
Does Schneiderlin need to up his game and start performing at last season’s level, or do you blame our tactics for the drop-off in some of his stats? Let us know what you think!
Basically he is like all the rest under Van Gaal, they were better players at their former clubs so you have to question what the hell does Van Gaal do ????
