Man Utd October International Round-Up: Part 1

Argentina 0-2 Ecuador
Two Manchester United players lined up in this World Cup qualifying game: Sergio Romero in goal for Argentina, and Antonio Valencia on the right for Ecuador. It was a bad night for Argentina, who suffered a surprise loss, and saw City’s Sergio Aguero stretchered off with a hamstring injury.
Valencia was Ecuador’s main outlet in the first half; they failed to score until the last 10 minutes of the game, but got two goals in quick succession as the final whistle approached. Watch Valencia’s assist for the second goal below:
I’m sure we’d all love to see some more high-tempo counter-attacking play like that at United this season!
France 4-0 Armenia
France brushed Armenia aside with a 4-0 win – Benzema scored twice, after goals from rumoured United transfer target Antoine Griezmann, and Yohan Cabaye. No Man Utd players started for France, but Schneiderlin and Martial came off the bench in the 63rd minute, with Tony M bagging an assist from a quality first time pass to Benzema that showed great awareness. Imagine what he could do with a pacey striker alongside him at United. Watch the clip below:
