Man United plots January move for David Alaba
Manchester United, according to reports are plotting move for Bayern Munich ace David Alaba. The report from the Daily and Express claims the likes of Real Madrid, Chelsea, Barcelona, and Paris Saint-Germain are also vying for his signature.
Alaba, whose current deal with the German clubs ends this season, is an in-demand asset at the moment and the Red Devils are plotting a late bid to hijack the 28-year-old’s move from their competitors.
The Sun, however claims earlier this month, that Frank Lampard’s side are 5/1 favorites to complete a deal for Alaba on or before February 2 with new zealand online casino. The Austrian defender, who has the ability to play at centre-back or left-back as well as in the middle of midfield, is approaching the end of his contract at Bayern Munich.
He has shown no indication of signing a new contract, and appears set to leave on a free transfer at the end of the season. Alaba will be free to sign a pre-contract agreement with a non-German side once the January transfer window opens, and it is expected that he will do so.
Champions League clubs are currently lining up for his signature, with Real Madrid, Barcelona, Chelsea and Paris Saint-Germain all interested. Chelsea are on the hunt for more centre-back reinforcements after bringing in Thiago Silva and Malang Sarr during the summer transfer window.
They are believed to be eager to sign him due to the fact they could potentially get him for just a small sign-on fee – a significantly cheap deal after their £250million spending spree in the summer. Real Madrid are expected to be leading the way for the 28-year-old and are eager to get a deal over the line once the January window opens up.
Reports suggest they could have a deal agreed in principle with Alaba’s representatives already. But regardless of the other teams interested, United are now apparently keen to enter into the negotiations.
German outlet SportBILD via slot machine en ligne claims United and Manchester City are both eager to enter into the running for Alaba in January despite the other teams interested. United are believed to be eager to sign a new centre-back in the summer transfer window, and are also interested in Dayot Upamecano.
Ole Gunnar Solskjaer was determined to sign a centre-back during the previous summer transfer window, but was unable to do so with the club instead focusing on other targets. And Upamecano is no longer one of those targets, according to reports, leaving them open to make a bid for Alaba instead.
RB Leipzig ace Upamecano has a release clause active at the end of the season which makes him available for just £38m. But Bayern Munich are leading the way for his services, and are planning to use the money they’ll save from Alaba and Jerome Boateng leaving.
